Prime Minister Yves Leterme will officially open the trade show on Tuesday 18th May. Herman van Rompuy held the honour last year and referred to REALTY during his opening speech as "the fair of hope". Hopefully this year, it is the fair of the revival. European president Van Rompuy is on the REALTY Patronage committee this year along with Didier Reynders, Vincent Van Quickenborne, Benoît Cerexhe, Guy Vanhengel, Jean-Luc Vanraes and Yves Leterme.
Lowette nominated for MIPIM awards 2010
Architect Karel Lowette is nominated for the MIPIM AWARDS 2010 in the “Refurbished Office Buildings” category with their renovation project ICAB. A polyvalent business centre was created for the plc ICAB - with VUB, GOMB and private partners as shareholders. The basilica concept is characterized by remarkable accents such as the atrium, with a renovated glass roof window, which forms the heart of the building and which is enclosed by two side bays for the office spaces. Vote for the ICAB project in the “Refurbished Office Buildings” category, before Thursday March 18th at noon.
Seminar HIGHLIGHT: finance raising and urban policy
The recent successful 22@Barcelona Innovation District Project and its Value Capture Finance methodology will be confronted with similar challenges in different cities in Belgium during the ULI seminar at REALTY. Value Capture Finance can be defined as the appropriation of value, generated by public sector intervention; and private sector investment in relation to an underused asset (land and or structure) for local re-investment to produce public good and potential private benefit. Mr Jordi Sacristan Adria, a key representative of the 22@Barcelona Innovation District Project, will, as main speaker of the panel, share this 4 millions SqM2 mixed use accomplishment, aside with mayors and heads of urban planning of Brussels, Charleroi and Kortrijk.
REALTY special in De Tijd / L’Echo
Through a new partnership with Mediafin, REALTY will benefit from the multi-medial expertise (print, site, e-mail) of De Tijd and L’Echo in quality business journalism for a very selective audience of CEO’s, managers and entrepreneurs. Apart from a large advertising campaign, a 12 page special about the Belgian real estate industry in general and REALTY in particular will appear on May 7th.
ReaLIST.be
Realist.be is a real estate community with news for real estate developers, brokers, agents, and everyone with an interest in real estate. The site offers quick access to all relevant news related to the real estate industry. The newsletter offers an overview of the most important news topics. This year REALTY decided to reduce the entrance fee and launches, apart from the classic entrance ticket (€70 for the 3 days), a 1-Day Ticket for €50.

An online community has been created for real estate professionals to prepare their visit to the maximum. You can now see who already registered and when they are planning on visiting the trade fair.
