"Brussels Greenfield or how can you get money for soil and groundwater remediation in the Brussels Region" (Ninnia Cours)
Start: 14:30
End: 15:30
Location: Seminar Room 1
Seminar Information
The Brussels Greenfields project aims to rehabilitate and redevelop vacated and polluted premises in the so-called ZIP (Zone d’intervention Prioritaire -Prioritaire Interventie Zone ), located along the canal Brussels-Charleroi, for which project development companies do not show an interest in the absence of financial compensation for the costs related to the presence of soil pollution. The project would ensure a reduction of polluted premises and related risks. It would contribute to the rehabilitation of various areas by means of the progressive elimination of vacated premises. This would subsequently lead to an improvement in employment and as a result the economic revival of these areas. The objective would be realised by granting aid for the remediation of land for which no liable party can be found.
