Nowadays, real estate development cannot be imagined whithout a strong  and obvious focus on sustanaibility. However, it is quite difficult to qualify what a sustainable building is exactly. How can investors make a difference between a real sustainable building and a simple lick of green paint on the facade? In other words, how can we make sure that a real estate investment will keep its value on the long term and will meet the always growing requirements in environmental sustainability. Certification by third parties is probably the best way to insure a real long term added value and, among the different certification procedures, BREEAM  is a leading value within this market.
